Decoding Shakespeare's Poetic Words

  • James Blackstone Memorial Library 758 Main Street Branford, CT (map)
June 12 - Decoding Shakespeare's Poetic Words

Shakespeare’s words are beautiful—but can be baffling. Want to understand what’s really going on in those poetic lines? Join Elm Shakespeare Company’s Artistic Director, Rebecca Goodheart, for a fun, interactive evening exploring how the Bard’s words were designed to come alive on stage. With more than 30 years of experience as a master text teacher and director, Rebecca will:

  • Decode the rhythmic and poetic clues embedded in Shakespeare’s verse

  • Show how actors use sound and structure to unlock character and emotion

  • Share a behind-the-scenes sneak peek of Elm’s Bollywood-inspired 30th anniversary production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Whether you're a longtime fan or just curious, this free event is the perfect way to connect with Shakespeare’s genius in a whole new way.

Free and open to all!
