This was a watershed year for Elm Shakespeare: record crowds, gorgeous weather and of course, two brilliant productions offered in rotating reportory - An adaptation by Charles Morey of Alexandre Dumas' "The Three Muskateers" and Shakespeare's "As You Like It"! Indeed, it was a spectacular August in Edgerton Park! We hope you are as thrilled as we are! After the resounding success and large crowds attending our performances this summer, we are inspired to stretch ourselves yet again to offer another action-packed, fun-filled summer of theatre in New Haven in 2008. For the past twelve years, Elm Shakespeare has offered free live classical theatre drawing very diverse audiences of 40,000 individuals from in and around New Haven each summer. As always, we believe in and are dedicated to contributing to the community and cultural vitality of New Haven. We need your help! The additional week of performances and expense of mounting two productions pose a great challenge to Elm Shakespeare. Your support of our capacity to deliver this high quality arts programming to New Haven remains vitally important to us. We continue to keep our suggested donations in the park very low and above all else voluntary. Contributions received through this annual appal are an essential part of our ability to continue performing for you in the park each summer. We thank you so much for your support over the years and if you are a new supporter, for joining us and allowing Elm Shakespeare to continue to bring the gift of theatre to Edgerton Park! With warm regards,
