Auditions

The Elm Scholar members are chosen by audition (Acting Interns), interview, and recommendation. Applicants will be contacted to schedule interviews and auditions. Applications must be received by May 15th.

Recommendation

Applicants must provide a letter of recommendation. This letter can be written by a teacher or adult familiar with applicant's work. The letter should attest to the applicant's commitment and potential to contribute to and benefit from the program.

Schedule

The Elm Scholars program runs in conjunction with the summer performances.  Elm Scholars enrolled as Acting Interns are expected to be available throughout the entire rehearsal and performance period (July 7-Sept. 1).  Elm Scholars enrolled as Technical Theatre Interns are expected to be available for the five weeks from July 28-Sept. 1.  Please be advised that whether students are Acting or Technical Theatre Interns, it is a rigorous schedule.   Responsibilities will include participation in the building and strike of the set and attending rehearsals during the day, as well as performances in the evening.  Internships include a stipend of $100 per week.
